Regular Members of the Society shall include physicians and doctorate-level healthcare professionals with recognized expertise. This category may also... include exceptional Associate Members approved by the Board of Directors based on specific professional contributions and qualifications.

Associate Membership is available for hyperbaric technicians, registered nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, undergraduate students, diving... supervisors, certified scuba instructors, and other hyperbaric or diving professionals with specialized technical, clinical, or research experience who do not meet the academic criteria for Regular Membership. Organizations other than Hyperbaric companies are also eligible. Retired Regular Members aged 65 years or above who are no longer professionally active may also qualify under this category; however, they will not retain voting privileges. Associate Members cannot vote or serve in Regular Membership positions on the Board of Directors but may vote and hold office in designated Associate Member positions.

Applicants must submit a letter from the Registrar confirming full-time enrollment status and the academic program currently being pursued. Membership... is available to full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students studying related disciplines in medicine, nursing, science, or allied fields. Student Members receive online access to the IHDMA Journal, Pressure newsletter, and other membership benefits. This category does not require payment, and eligibility must be renewed annually through enrollment verification. Student Members are not eligible to vote or hold office.
