Accreditation is a structured process that demands preparation, implementation, and continual progression. Below are the steps that any center going through the accreditation process, accredited by organizations like UHMS, NABH, or ISO, needs to follow:

  1. Gap Analysis: Identify what you need to improve and what standards have to be achieved as per the accrediting body (for example, UHMS, NABH).
  2. Team Building & Planning: Form a team that will look after your documentation, safety, and training processes.
  3. Documentation & Implementation: Create SOPs, policies, and checklists. Conduct training programs and implement SOPs.
  4. Internal Audits & Corrections: Conduct mock audits and correct the deficiencies. Ensure your compliance with standards before applying.
  5. Application & Assessment: Apply for accreditation. Go through pre-assessment (if any) and the on-site assessment.
