Work Experience & History

Currently practising as an Advocate at the Bombay High Court since last 23 years.

Have been the "Standing Counsel" for the Income Tax Department at the Bombay High Court from 2005 and Her Excellency the then President of India has given her sanction to my name for another term.

Been an Hon. Professor of Law at The Government Law College- Mumbai and judged various Moot Courts at various law colleges.Lectured on topics like Constitutional Law, Corporate laws, Consumer Protection Act and medico legal cases

Have been an Arbitrator on Arbitral Panel with High Court Judge and also appeared before arbitral panels and have vast experience in Arbitration matters especially encompassing commercial criminal cause of actions entailing criminal prosecution and arbitration simultaneously.

Took up Public causes on a regular basis and towards that end filed Public Interest Litigations in the High Court; one being the PIL filed by me against the Election Commission of India and the Union Of India for urging secrecy in the process of vote counting through the Electronic Voting Machines, which alters the basic structure of the Constitution.

Invited by various bodies including Bloomberg Asia as a speaker on various topics at various events from time to time.

Experienced in handling Constitutional Law, Corporate Law, Property Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Technology law encompassing world jurisdictions, Direct and Indirect Taxation and Immigration matters.

Independently advised Corporate Houses on Restructuring and Mergers and Acquisitions and as such drafted Schemes Of Arrangement for Mergers and Demergers of several Corporate Houses, the Company Applications and Petitions and also appeared in the High Courts for the sanctioning of such Schemes and ensured legal compliance in the entire process.

Handled matters related to patents, copyrights, and trademarks . Advised clients (widely technology companies) on patenting strategies at the USPTO (United States Patent and Trade Marks Office) & EPO (European Patent Office), including specific claims to be sought and protection of business methods over the internet and whilst drafting biotechnology claims and specifications for protection at the USPTO.

Independently drafted appeared and handled Criminal Law matters interalia bail matters, in the various Magistrates Courts, Sessions Court as well as the High Court.

Handled various matters related to Foreign Exchange Management Act and appeared at the Exchange Control Department, Reserve Bank Of India and before the Competent Authority under COFEPOSA.

Academic Qualifications:

• Passed LL.M in Corporate Laws and Constitutional Laws and am in the top 1 % of the class at the Mumbai University.
• Passed LLB from the Government Law College, Mumbai University with Banking & Negotiable Instruments Act, Intellectual Property Laws, Drafting, Pleading & Conveyancing and Moot Court Trial as optional specializations.
• Attended intensive course and workshop on Mergers, Acquisitions and Takeovers at the BSE TI (Bombay Stock Exchange Training Institute)
• Passed BSc. in Chemistry with Drugs and Dyes as an optional specialisation and Botany and Zoology as other subjects, from the Jai Hind College, Churchgate, Mumbai.
• Passed SSC from the Bharda New High School, V.T. Mumbai-1
• Passed the 33rd & 34th Annual 'All India Senior United Nations Information Test ' Certificate conducted by the Council of UN information.
• Passed the 16th , 19th & 22nd 'All India General Knowledge ' Competition organized by Indian Council for International Amity, Jaipur.
